Happy New Year

Well another year has come and gone and now its time to welcome the New Year. Warren and Erica held a New Years Eve party and the gang managed to get together for another great party. The weather was not good, a snow and ice storm was going on but it did not stop them . That is for all except me, I managed to come down with a stomach virus so I spent the night home in bed. Lets hope that is not an indication of what is still to come.

The Cover is off

With the spring like temperatures this weekend we pulled the shrink wrap off and have started to get the boat ready for the water. The bad news is I started feeling sick so I did not get as much done as I had hoped. Well looks like Danny will be busy for the next few days.

Easter Weekend on the boat

Well I decided to start the weekend early so I moved onto the boat Thursday night, Caryl and the girls came down Friday. The weather forecast is not that great but who cares, we are on the boat.

July 4th weekend

4th of July Weekend

The weather this summer has not been so great, wet and cold. The forecast was not so good for the holiday weekend so we decided to make the best of it. We did get to go to the Haverstraw fireworks as well as peekskills. We were hoping to go to the City fireworks but the coast guard said no anchoring and you had to be in the safety zone by 7:30 so we decided not to go. We spent one night in a 8 boat raftup and had a good time. Rick and Mary joined us so we broke them in. We did end up with a total of 20 boats in one of our raftups during the weekend. Perhaps summer is finally getting here.

July Vacation

Sandy hook fishing

We managed to get our annual fishing trip in for 3 days. We did not get a lot of keepers due to the size limits in NJ but we did get a lot of fish. We had four boats make the trip, TJ's, Never Forget, Fish Tales and us. On Wednesday as we were leaving the marina we saw several pods of dolphen. They were playing all around us like a bunch of kids. We did get some pictures.

We also had dinner in pigs and chicken as well as the usual Harbors. Wednesday night we saw a sail boat sink while it was on its mooring. The boat had just been launched that morning.

Summer is half over, where did the time go?

Penny Bridge Marina's 1st Rendevous

Up until this weekend it would rain at least one of the weekend days. PBM picked a perfect weekend  and  the first weekend it did not rain to hold there first ever Rendevous at the Catskill Marina. No rain and great cruising weather. We had a total of 21 boats make the trip up. Most of us made the trip with no problems other than a safety check from the coast guard. We did have one boat that ended up going aground in the flats and was delayed for several hours. The good news was no damage and when the tide came in they drove off the flats and continued there trip.

When everyone arrived Friday night we had Pizza and drinks waiting on us. Everyone filled there bellies and sat by the fire and got to know each other. Saturday was a lazy day by the pool and some people went to town to see the Cats display as well as the farmers market. Saturday night we had dinner just outside of town. A great meal and great company made for a good night. Sunday everyone headed back as there schedules needed them to. Some left early and some left late.

Tara put together a great video of the trip that everyone should see. We all had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip.
